We are living in a small town in Tennessee with 7 of our 10 children still at home. We wanted to share with you our experiences in this site about our home we purchased and are in the process of remodeling. We actually live in a church that we are converting to be our home and it is a real interesting experience. Our research to try to find someone who had did what we did was not an easy one, so our thought was maybe we could share what we have did and maybe it will help your search to be a little easier than the paths we have had to take to get here.

Our history is as follows:

July 7 2004
We packed up our home in Illinois and were on our journey to Tennessee, one semi full of our belongings, 2 suburbans and trailers, a car packed to the top,a dog in a cage and 8 of our children, along with miscelaneous things we could cram into every corner or floor board of our vechicles, including the sleeper cab of the semi truck that was rented to bring 41 years of stuff we had collected.

July 8th 2004
We arrived in Tennessee and closed on our church we purchased, knee deep grass, and a big empty building, ready and waiting for us to invade the beautiful space that once was filled with music and people from all over this county. Our purchase was an interesting one and has become a huge part of our where we are today and a great start for our future. We drove from the closing office in the semi and moved in to the Fellowship hall portion of the church with 8 of our children knowing this would be a temporary thing, after all they built the main portion in 2 weeks so how much longer could things take. We said we'd be camping for a few months and we could handle that. HA-HA, you have to have a sense of humor~well we do now!

July 8th 2004
We moved in the needed items to live for a week or so and that day we made a plan and began construction, yes seriously that day

July 8-20th 2004
We worked early mornings till late in the night in 100 degree weather and then at night we would sweep everything up and make our temporary beds on the red carpet in the sanctuary around the pulpit area. I remember laying there looking up at our ceilings and wondering what our future would hold, this was an amazing time in our lives and still to this day this is an amazing place to be!

July 20th to present day: Please stop back by for this update and photos as this weekend is pretty busy as we are finishing the 5th bedroom! Ya- finally- were moving on up!

Be blessed~ God is doing HIS thing!
